The witness is involved in a heated divorce action based on his wife's adultery. The wife's current boyfriend is a professional wrestler. There have been several confrontations between boyfriend and husband, and boyfriend has been previously deposed in the matter.
Q In that deposition, he also said one thing that maybe was stranger than the other matters I've asked you about. He said that you had threatened legal action against his parents.
A Yeah. I don't know where that came from. Maybe for having him.
Q That is pretty funny. I have to give you credit for that.

What is a scopist?
A scopist is a professional who provides computer-aided transcription services for court reporters. The scopist receives the reporter's translated, unedited, unresearched notes on a computer disk or via modem or email. With the aid of specialized software and the scopist's skills of translating any undefined stenotype into English, punctuating, researching and formatting, flagging any questionable areas, the transcript is then returned to the reporter ready to be proofread.
